Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla work almost exclusively as a collaborative duo. The artists have worked with multi-media ranging from performance, installation, photography and video. Their recent exhibits have focused on the political relationship between the U.S. and Puerto Rico, specifically the cultural reclamation of the recently closed U.S. Naval facility in Vieques, Puerto Rico. Allora & Calzadilla’s solo exhibitions have included: Allora & Calzadilla, Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, MA (2003); Ciclonismo, Chantal Crousel Galerie, Paris (2003); and Other Worlds, ARCO Project Rooms, Madrid, Spain (2000). They have been featured in group exhibitions at Dakar Biennale, Senegal (2004); ARC-Musee d’art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, France, (2004); International Center of Photography, NY, NY (2003); Tate Modern, London, UK; and VII Bienal de la Habana, Cuba (2000), among others.
