Fatma Bucak (b. 1982) is a Turkish artist. Bucak received her BA in Fine Art from Albertina Academy of Fine Art, Turin, Italy in 2007 and her MA in Photography at the Royal College of Art, London, United Kingdom in 2012. She has been the subject of solo exhibitions including Fatma Bucak, ARTER, Space for Art, Istanbul (2013); Illy Present Future, Artissima, Turin (2013); Daughter of Man, Alberto Peola Arte Contemporanea, Turin (2011); Melancholia I, The Zandra Rhodes Gallery – UCA, Rochester, Kent (2009). Her work has been exhibited in numerous group exhibitions including Catlin Art Prize, Londonewcastle Project Space, London Estrangement, Cooper Gallery, Dundee (2013); The Birth of Cinema…and Beyond, Rosenfeld Porcini Gallery, London (2013); Dress Code, Contemporary Art Platform Gallery Space, Kuwait (2012); Vennestraat – Hidden Places and Identities, Manifesta 9 Parallel Event, Genk (2012); Tese di San Cristoforo – Arsenale/Academies, 54th Venice Biennale, Venice (2011); International Festival of Non-fiction Film and Media, MoMA, New York (2011); among others. In 2013, she received the Resò International Art Residency Programe, The Town House Gallery, Cairo, Egypt and the Damiani Award, Academy Now, London, United Kingdom.
