Artist: Jim Lambie

Nov 15 - Jan 10 2004

In his work, Lambie often references music by using related objects, like record covers, to create sculptures. In his vinyl tape installations, the artist interprets melody by adorning a gallery space with layered patterns of vibrantly hued vinyl tape. Recent exhibitions include Painting at the Edge of the World, Walker Arts Center, Minneapolis, MN; Patterns Between Object and Arabesque, The Modern Institute, Glasgow; and a solo exhibition at Konrad Fischer Gallery, Dusseldorf, Germany. Jim Lambie is represented by Anton Kern in New York and The Modern Institute in Scotland.
