Mickalene Thomas Studio Tour
Thursday, June 5, 2014
Art in General will take you into Mickalene Thomas’ Brooklyn studio for a look at her current projects. Thomas is best known for her complex paintings of African American women that often involve bright acrylic colors and rhinestones. For Better Days, her most recent installation at Art Basel, Thomas collaborated with artists including Solange Knowles to create a party reminiscent of those her mother threw in the 1970s. She will speak with members about her range of projects and lead the group through a tour of her creative work space.
Insiders Members only. Space is limited; RSVP required.
