How To Break Your Own Heart: Visitors Welcome

Set in the gallery turned jazz salon by Xaviera Simmons, an evening of jazz DJing and live music by Matana Roberts and a string quartet. Matana is a dynamic saxophonist, composer and improviser, who tries to expose in her music the mystical roots and spiritual traditions of African American creative expression. She has been using Xaviera’s installation as a rehearsal space, which is open to the general public.
