Personal Touch

Curated by Sabine Russ and Gregory Volk, Personal Touch includes work by ten international artists from South Korea, Poland, Cameroon, Germany, as well as from New York. Spanning a variety of media including photography, video, installation, blown glasswork, sculpture, performance works, and painting, the exhibit investigates what the idea of the“personal” means in art today. Avoiding conventional expressions of the “personal” in art, such as memory, autobiography and identity, the works in this show evoke the “personal” in diverse and eclectic ways. In addition to the exhibition, the personal aspect of the art world at large will be incited through informal events such as dinner parties, ad hoc discussions, and impromptu parties.
