010exg686_4_lg_144_144The March exhibition at Art in General features wall reliefs and sculptures by five artists that are united by a shared sense of reticence and a subtle handling of form. Lanny Bergner creates wire and steel sculptures that are reminiscent of microscopic creatures; Nancy Plotkin’s wall sculptures suggest a narrative in fractured form; the sculptures of Bill Enck incorporate bird-like creatures, eggplants and lamps in rich, jewel-like colors; Randy Hardy’s sculptures are based on anatomy and made out of plaster, which is later cast in bronze; Jody Intermont carves stone statues of rockets that collide with models of classical architecture.
