Color/Plane Study I & II
Terence Gower
For this installation, Terrance Gower portrays the architectural space of Art in General in an axionometric drawing divided into three planes: red, gray and a photographic image. Inspired by Laszlo Maholy-Nagy and Le Corbusier’s use of color to articulate space, Gower seeks to extend the exhibition space through use of the photographic architectural imagery. Gower was also inspired by the Russian Constructivist’s use of the color red in the representation of the plane. This installation is part of the exhibition Plane and Elevation concurrently on view in Gallery 6.
