Elevator Stretching

For his residency, Antal Lakner enacts an elevator stretching program, developed to help avoid physical passivity and to instigate awareness of the body during trips in the elevator. This project was developed out of a concern for the habits formed due to the mechanical components of human life.

This residency and exhibition are part of Art in General’s Eastern European Residency Exchange (EERE) gives artists an opportunity to create a new work in a new context, and to meet and interact with art communities in Eastern Europe and New York City. Antal Lakner was nominated to the EERE by Trafó Gallery in Budapest, Hungary .
