Looking at Aunt Jenny
William Pope, Thomas R. Miller
Created by William Pope in collaboration with Thomas Miller, this “live” sound piece chronicles the relationship between the artist and his 114 year-old Aunt Jenny (now deceased) through a set of “urban zulu myths.” Pope’s work often addresses contemporary issues such as class, consumerism, and culturally embedded racism with dark humor and biting critique.
