Cadumbra

For this installation, Denise Milan has blackened the entire galley window, leaving only a small hole in the center. As the viewers peer inside they are confronted with a sense of depth shaped by an illusion created by embedded crystals in mirrors, light and glass. The installation subverts the shallow and simplistic ways that viewers often approach art.
