From Scratch

Created by Luisa Caldwell, From Scratch explores issues of fantasy and desire as expressed through female identity. The installation features a large drawing and sculptural objects such as a decorative cake with a ballerina perched on top, and decorative plates made to look like cake tops. Words such as “Grateful” “Shellfish” (written alongside the image of a shell) and the artist’s name, “Luisa,” are written on the plates in icing-like script.
