Roadside Geology

Roadside Geology is comprised of tiny stones tied to strings that are suspended from the ceiling. According to the artist, Austin Thomas, “My work begins by observing nature. From there, I select stones for their metaphors and often for their smallness, as well as for their meaningfulness to so many other people. Each stone has been carefully selected from friends and family members, making it a geological reunion, or a happening on an intimate scale.”
