Created by Barbara Garber, this installation features a length of cord that converges with a digitally enlarged photograph of itself, highlighting the tension caused by mechanical reproduction and the idea of repetition. In an artist’s statement Garber has noted, “I’m fascinated by the spatial tension that exists between what is placed on the wall, the objects that project from it, and by their shadows. With these ingredients I try to compose a complex, ambiguous space that both intrigues and confounds the eye.”
