After Before

The first installment of a New Commissions Program at Art in General, After Before is a new video installation created by Sharon Hayes. Filmed in a quasi-fictional, quasi-documentary style, the video features two main characters that interview people on the streets of New York City two months before the US presidential election in 2004. In an attempt to understand the state of the nation, this video unravels the mythical and imagined constructions of the opinions of the general public.
