The Experiential Project

004ncps05_4_lg_144_144Part of the first installment of a New Commissions Program at Art in General, The Experiential Project presents not physical work, but actual experiences. A series of performative works orchestrated by Lee Walton, The Experiential Project consists of spontaneous happenings that are completed by the viewer and take place in public places, neighborhood businesses or in front of Art in General.
These happenings are organized in three parts:

The Experiential Project consists of eleven “things” that you encounter while following Walton’s script.

004ncps05_3_lg_144_144Life/Theater Performance is comprised of fourteen scheduled “events” throughout the city. A series of postcards distributed by Art in General indicate the dates upon and locations in which the performances are to occur. The PDF of the series of postcards is available here for download.

004ncps05_2_lg_144_144Life/Theater Today, consists of happenings taking place every Thursday through Saturday, 4-5pm from October 1-December 17 right in front of Art in General; for this reason, a raw, wooden bleacher is installed in the ground-level space at Art in General for observation and reflection.
